We want you to have a great time, but we also want to your experience to be safe and meet the state laws surrounding pedal bike touring. Your cooperation ensures that everyone can enjoy the MTW all season long.
The driver for your ride is in charge at all times and will enforce the following policies. It is also the responsibility of the person who booked the ride to help co-pilot the group in order to maintain a fun and safe experience.
Upon making a reservation, you will receive an acknowledgement email of your booking. This is not a confirmation that your ride will run.
To avoid unnecessary credit card charges, official confirmations occur when a ride reaches the minimum number of riders. This confirmation notifies you that a tour is on!
When confirmed, please bring along your confirmation email (digital or print).
Back-to-back rides have 30 minutes in between for clean up and rider registration. Please arrive at least 20 minutes prior to your start time to ensure that we can check you in, handle any last minute liability waivers, go over the rules, and get started on time.
For your safety, do not wear open-toe shoes.
You may ride with beer, other fermented beverages, and wine on board! We cannot allow you to ride with glass or hard liquor. Each rider is allowed up to 36 ounces of alcoholic beverages on board. This is a state law and is out of our control.
All reservations require 100% advance payment.
Because Private Rides automatically reach rider minimum requirements, they will take precedent over public rides that have not reached a six-rider minimum. In the event that a public ride is canceled, riders will receive a rebooking with a discount or a full credit/refund.
The MTW focuses on your comfort and safety but we also try to operate rain or shine. Weather cancellations are the decision of the MTW exclusively and any rider cancellations follow our cancellation policy.
Weather decisions will be done as early as possible (typically 24 hours in advance).
Cancellations made by riders will receive a full refund if cancelled at least fourteen days prior to the reservation. Because a tour cannot run without six riders, a cancellation of this nature may affect a tour’s operation, so no refunds will be given if cancelled with less notice.
You may cancel online, call, or email us to cancel your reservation.
Inappropriate behavior by participants will result in termination of the ride for the entire group. Your driver has sole discretion on terminating a ride for misbehavior. Groups who have their ride terminated for any reason will not receive a refund and will incur a $150 penalty fee, charged to the credit card used at booking.
These behaviors include, but are not necessarily limited to:
Excessive intoxication — do not show up already intoxicated and pace yourself!
Providing alcohol to anyone not on our ride or under the age of 21
Bringing glass or hard liquor on board
Jumping off The MTW while it’s moving
Throwing anything from The MTW
Using vulgar language at pedestrians, the police, or others
Remember—Our driver is in charge! Have a good time but use common sense and obey the rules!
